Lagos Police Command Arrest Officer for Harrassing Civilians With Service Pistol

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested an officer accused of Harrassing civilians with his service pistol.

Inspector Yemi Ojumoola appeared in a viral video having an altercation with motorists in Ibadan and threatening a couple with his service pistol.

During the incident, the wife of the man being harrased by the police officer dared him to shoot while she was recording. He thereafter grabbed her phone and smashed it on the floor.

Reacting to the incident on Tuesday, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumose ordered the officer to be arrested. He also ordered that he should face an orderly room trial.

Before his arrest was ordered, Ojumoola had told the press that his intention was to scare the motorists and not use his service Pistol on them.

He said further that he has never been charged for misbehaviour in his 28 year career as a police officer.
