Lagos Police Offer N1m Reward For Masked Woman

The Lagos State Police Command has placed a N1 million reward for information leading to the arrest of a masked who falsely accused a policeman, Christopher Marcel Nabugwu, of living beyond his means.

In a video which quickly went viral on social media, the masked woman had demanded an investigated into the lifestyle of Nabugwu, an Inspector of Police, whom she said owned assets valued at N2 billion.

She alleged in the video that the assets included a house at 27 Remi Fani-Kayode Street, GRA-Ikeja and a slew of exotic cars with customised plate number ‘MCON’.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti said in a statement over the weekend, “You will recall that the masked woman had in a video that went viral on the social media alleged that the police inspector owns a property worth over two hundred and fifty million  (N250million) at No. 27  Remi Fani-Kayode Street GRA, Ikeja, uses exotic cars with customised vehicle  licence plate titled  “MCON” and worth over N2billion in cash and assets.

“The allegations caught the attention of the Inspector General of Police who ordered an investigation into the allegation the source not -withstanding.”

The statement added that after thorough investigation, the allegations were found to be false and calculated to soil the good officer’s name.

It added that the State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, had therefore ordered the payment of N1 million to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the alleged false accuser.

He said that the arrest and prosecution of the masked woman would serve as deterrent to others.
