A Lagos lawmaker, Mr Fatai Oluwa, has assured that people of Lagos State confidence will experience high-scale progress under the incoming administration of Governor-elect, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, beginning from May 29.

Oluwa, a second-term lawmaker-elect representing Ajeromi-Ifelodun State Constituency II at the Lagos House of Assembly disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday in Lagos.

According to him, the three arms of government will work together to take the state to new heights where residents would be proud of.

The lawmaker said ”The state will experience high-scale progress beginning from May 29, 2019 when a new government is formed.

”Both the legislative and the executive arms of the state government would hit the ground running in synergy as yearned by residents, many of whom came out to cast their votes.”

He also thanked the residents of the state for their continued trust in the government run by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Oluwa defected from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2017 on the floor of the state assembly.

He commended the National Leader of the party, Sen. Bola Tinubu for putting the APC on a sound footing that resulted in the massive trust from the people of the state.

He added that the House led by Mr Mudashiru Obasa Speaker of the House, had remained steadfast in making the legislative arm of the state the envy of others in the country.

”We understand the yearnings of people of our dear state, this is where we live in. Anyone who lives or do business here would understand the peculiarity of the state.

”Be that as it may, we all have absolute trust in the Governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to maintain that standard of excellence that Lagos is known for.

”Also, under the current speaker, we have passed life-changing bills into law. We passed the anti-kidnapping, the neighbourhood safety corps, the cancer research institute bills among others,” Oluwa said.

The lawmaker assured that the next four years would witness more people-oriented bills to benefit the residents.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that APC won all the 40 in Lagos assembly, unlike in 2015 when the opposition, PDP, clinched eight of the seats. (NAN)
