Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has said that Information Minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has become jittery over the visit of PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar to the United States.
Mohammed and other All Peoples Congress (APC) had constantly stated that Atiku could not visit the US over alleged corruption charges against him.
But the former vice president, whose last visit to the US was in 2004, touched down in Washington DC on Thursday.
Mohammed later said that Atiku would be questioned on his return to Nigeria over his alleged role in the failure of a bank, Bank PHB.
The minister alleged that hundreds of millions of naira were inexplicably traced to Atiku from the bank.
But taking to his Twitter handle on Friday, Omokri said the fresh allegations against Atiku were borne out of fear.
He tweeted:
