Latest Reasons Behind Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting

We’ll never know for sure why Adam Lanza, the 20 years old Newtown, Connecticut, murderer went on the shooting rampage that left 26 dead at Sandy Hook Elementary, but in a new interview reported by Daily News, a friend of Adam’s mother insist that his past experience of being bullied played a big role.

Speaking with Daily News, Marvin LaFontaine, a friend of Nancy Lanza, strongly believes that the shooting spree at the school may have been Adam Lanza’s “act of revenge.” She explains that Adam grew up as a target of relentless bullying, and that he was picked on mercilessly by his schoolmates. “Adam was an easy target. He was quite and he would never fight back.”

Furthermore, the bullying often became so bad that Nancy accompanied Adam to school like a bodyguard. “Adam didn’t like her showing up,” said Marvin. Before driving to the school on Dec 14, he murdered his mother in their Newtown home.

According to Marvin, as Adam grew older, the antisocial behavior that he developed as a bullied child only worsened, to the point that he would lock himself in his room for hours.

It is difficult to find sympathy for a person who horrifically killed so many young people, but the picture that Marvin paints, is of a truly disturbed person. A person who was mentally sick and not treated appropriately.

Adams actions continue to drastically shape the legislature on gun control in the US, now, more than ever.
