Lawmaker’s Wife Dies After Drinking Concoction To Enhance Breast Milk Flow

Binta Safiyanu, the first wife of Yunusa Jikamshi, the lawmaker representing Musawa constituency in the Katsina State House of Assembly, has died in mysterious circumstances.

Binta died a week after delivering a set of twins.

She was said to have drunk a traditional herbal concoction to enhance the flow of her breast milk to enable her properly feed her newborn babies.

While one version of events had it that her co-wives prevailed on her to drink the concoction which led to her death, another version said she was a habitual drinker of herbal concoctions and had contacted one Sakina to help her prepare the killer concoction.

She was said to have started vomiting after taking the concoction and was rushed to Musawa General Hospital where she was confirmed dead.

Binta, a mother of six, has been buried according to Islamic rites.

The state police command, which has been investigating the incident, has arrested Sakina.
