A civil lawsuit accusing Jay-Z and Diddy of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at a New York party in 2000 has been dismissed by the accuser.
According to court documents filed in a New York federal court on Friday, the case was “voluntarily dismissed with prejudice,” meaning the plaintiff cannot refile the lawsuit.
Jay-Z Reacts to Case Dismissal
Celebrating the ruling, Jay-Z called it a “victory for those falsely accused.”
“Today is a victory. The frivolous, fictitious, and appalling allegations have been dismissed,” he stated in a post on his Roc Nation social media page.
However, the rapper acknowledged the toll the case took on his family, adding:
“The trauma my wife, my children, and my loved ones have endured can never be dismissed.”
Background of the Lawsuit
The lawsuit, which named Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Sean “Diddy” Combs, alleged that the incident occurred at a party in 2000 when the accuser was just 13 years old. Both music moguls denied the allegations, calling them baseless.
