He said his recent experience has taught him that loyalty is more valuable when things are rough.

This decision represents the high-point of an intra-party leadership crisis that nearly destroyed the APC having stemmed from a rivalry between Adams Oshiomhole and Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state.

The power Tussle led to the suspension of Oshiomhole as National Chairman of the party and the exit of Godwin Obaseki from the APC.

“Of course, we have now been dissolved and I have accepted that dissolution in good fate. I have always assured the President of my loyalty. I know it is easy for people to speak of loyalty when the going is good but loyalty is brought to the test when the going gets really tough,” he said.

He thereafter expressed that the Executive and National Assembly were united under his leadership of the APC through the emergence of Ahmed Lawan as Senate President and Femi Gbajabiamila as Speaker, House of Representatives.
