Fresh reports have emerged revealing Tunde Fowler, the immediate past Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service lobbied to retain his position as boss of the FIRS.
Fowler has been replaced by Muhammed M. Nami, a renowned Tax Consultant as the new Chairman of the revenue service.
According to US based Journalist Farooq Kperogi, Fowler’s lobby to retain his Chairman position was ignored which he suggests may be part of a bigger plot connected to the 2023 Presidential race.
If this memo is authentic, it means Tunde Fowler actually actively lobbied for a 2nd term but was turned down. And, to add insult to injury, they leaked it! Get your popcorn! The real movie of 2023 is about to start. We predicted this.Any halfway smart person could’ve foreseen it – Farooq Kperogi wrote on his Twitter page
Kperogi in another tweet confirmed the authenticity of the memo
I’ve confirmed that the memo is authentic.
Excerpts of the leaked memo addressed to the Secretary-General of the Federation(SGF) reads;
“I wish to present myself for reappointment for a second term. This is consistent with the provisions of the FIRS Establishment Act 2007 and would grant me opportunity to consolidate and build on the achievements we have recorded in the past four years”
