“Leave Dino Alone” – Fani-Kayode Issues Strong Warning To Dino Melaye’s Enemies

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has issued a strong warning to masterminds of the alleged assassination of the senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, Sen. Dino Melaye.

Suspected assassins in police uniform reportedly pumped over 20 bullets into the armoured vehicle conveying the senator to Yagba East, where he had gone to commission some constituency projects earlier today.

Melaye was said to be in an entourage conveying him from his hometown Ayetoro-Gbede to Isanlu in Yagba East when the incident occurred.

The unidentified men reportedly mounted roadblocks with a heavy truck and set up bonfire with tyres blocking anyone from entering the town.

Melaye’s convoy reportedly turned back to Ayetoro-Gbede on noticing the situation.

Recall that unidentified men earlier in the week burnt down four constituency projects constructed by the senator in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital, days before they were due to be commissioned.

Like the arsonists, the alleged assassins have not been identified.

But reacting to the news of the alleged assassination of the senator, Fani-Kayode wondered why Melaye’s detractors were hellbent on killing him.

He warned them to leave the senator alone as killing him would not solve their problems.

The ex-minister said, “First you burn down the schools that Sen. Dino Melaye built as part of his constituency projects. Then you try to murder him by pumping his car with over 20 bullets. Killing him will not solve your problems or silence the opposition. It will only make things worse. Leave Dino alone!”
