The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani, has warned the Nigeria Police Force against continued harassment of the Nigerian Peace Corps.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the corps’ office in Abuja has been shut for nearly a year despite two court judgements that the office should be reopened.

The office, which overlooks the Jabi Lake Mall along Alex Ekwueme Way, was sealed on February 28, 2017.

The Corps leader, Dickson Akoh and some other leaders have also been arrested by the police on different occasions, with 40 being arrested on the day of the locking of the office.

However, taking to his verified Twitter handle on Saturday, Dani tweeted: The harassment against members of the peace corps by the Police is unnecessary. There are other challenging security issues the police should be more bothered about. The Police should embrace and partner the Peace Corps to compliment them.Just leave them alone.
