Leicester City are surprise table-toppers in the English Premier League and their title challenge has been given a further boost by the endorsement of legendary Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.
He said the team could win the title with three games to spare.
Victory over struggling Newcastle United will ensure the Foxes open up an 8-point lead at the top of the table, with 8 games to go.
Reacting to a question on Leicester City’s ability to win the coveted league title, Ferguson, who won 13 with Manchester United, said: “Of course they can. I believe they will win it with three games to spare.”
He also showered praise Steve Walsh, the head of recruitment at Leicester, for picking out the stars that have now become the heroes of the league.
The stars that came to the King Power stadium through Walsh’s foresight include Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante.
Speaking about Walsh, Sir Alex said: “The most influential person in the Premier League has been Steve Walsh.”
