LG Boss In Custody Over Alleged Murder Case

The newly inaugurated sole administrator of Baruku Local Government Area, David Yinman, has been charged to court following an alleged case of murder.

Chief Magistrate Court 1 sitting in Markudi, has ordered the remand of the LG boss and some of his accomplices namely, Kosuvenyi Kungwa and Emmanuel Nyajo.

According to reports from the court, the suspects were arrested in connection with the murder of a lecturer.

The victim, Mr. Aondosoo Wilfred Tondo, a 50-year-old lecturer of Political Science, in the Univeristy of Mkar, was murdered in August.

An investigation into the case revealed that the suspects conspired with many other people, who are now at large, to commit the crime.

The case, which was mentioned on Monday, lacks plea for want of jurisdiction. The police prosecuting officer, Hyacenth Mbakwor, told the court that the case was being investigated and asked for another date.

Counsel to the accused, Mr E.C Tereve said that they will formally apply for bail on behalf of their client.

The case has been adjourned by the Chief Magistrate, Isaac Ajim to the 23rd of January, 2017. However, the suspects will remain in custody until the trail date.
