Barcelona star man, Lionel Messi has revealed the best goal of his illustrious career.

The 30-year-old five-time Ballon D’Or winner made the revelation in an interview with newsmen.

He said the best goal of his career was his headed goal against Manchester United in the 2009 UEFA Champions League final.

To get the memorable goal, Messi appeared to suspend in the air before putting a superb looped header past Edwin van der Saar from a beautiful Xavi cross that found him in United’s 18-yard box.

Recounting the experience, Messi said, “I don’t look at goals for their beauty, but their importance.

“The best goal of my career was the header in the Champions League final, for what that goal and that game meant.

“I don’t have special goals marked out that I’d like to score because for me – the special goals are the important ones.”

Barcelona won the game 3-1 to lift their third UCL title.
