The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has urged residents of the state to embrace peace and be obedient to constituted authorities during and after the lockdown period in the state.
The monarch made the plea in Ilorin on Saturday in a statement signed by the Emir spokesman, AbdulAzeez Arowona, following commencement of another two weeks lockdown in Kwara to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The Emir, who is also the state Chairman of the Traditional Council, advised traditional chiefs, District Heads, Community leaders, groups and Associations to ensure peace prevails in their domain.

Sulu-Gambari stressed that the lockdown will no doubt cause hardships on the people but will bring a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of the citizenry in the long-run.
The monarch appealed to security agents in the state to be civil in their dealings with citizens of the state during the lockdown period.
The emir, however, commended the state government for its proactive efforts toward curbing further spread of COVID-19 infection in the state.
The royal father prayed for absolute comfort and good health for the entire people of the state, nation and world at large.
