A mentally unstable man, Auwalu Magaji, was beheaded at a tea joint in Tamburawa, Kura Local Government Area of Kano State.
Haladu Mohammed, a security guard said he and a group found Magaji’s headless body at a Mai shai (tea joint) last Saturday at about 6am.
“On Saturday, workers, tea sellers, alongside others within the local community woke up at about 6am to be confronted with the headless body of Auwalu. Disturbed by the strange discovery, residents hurriedly reported the sad incident to the Kura Local Government Police Division, as well as the council leadership.”
Council officials transported the headless body slick with blood, in a Toyota Hilux pick-up van to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital’s mortuary.
Magaji’s family members came to claim his corpse after hearing the news via radio. The family members, came from Kasaure, Jigawa State, and took the body away for burial.
Mohammed inferred that this was the work of ritualists as the body was found dumped near a river bank in the area.
