Mama Boko Haram Faces Trial Before Third Judge Over N65m Fraud

Aisha Wakil, popularly called Mama Boko Haram, alongside two others have been charged before the third court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday, March 5, 2020.

 

Mama Boko Haram’s co-defendants include Alhaji Saidu Daura and Prince Lawal Shoyode, who are senior members of her non-governmental organisation, Complete Care and Aid Foundation

 

Mama Boko Haram and her co-defendants are currently standing trial at three different courts before Justice Aisha Kumaliya of Borno State High Court with N111.7m fraud, arraigned for N42m fraud before Justice Jude Dagat of a Federal High Court, Maiduguri and most recent being before Justice Umaru Fadawu of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri.

At the arraignment of the trio, Wakil pleaded “not guilty” to all the charges read before her, while the second and third defendants declined to take their pleas.

 

Justice Fadawu, however, entered a “not guilty” plea for the two defendants and adjourned until March 12 and 16, 2020.
