Man, 28, remanded over alleged defilement of minor

An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan on Friday remanded a 28 -year-old driver , Anuoluwa Oyeladun in prison over alleged defilement of a minor.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.F.Richard ordered that Oyeladun be remanded at Agodi Prison pending the advice of the State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

The chief magistrate adjourned the case till April 19, for mention.

Oyeladun, who resides at Papa Olosun, Alakia in Ibadan is facing a one – count charge of having unlawful carnal knowledge with a minor.

The accused plea was not taken.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Ogunremi told the court that Oyeladun on March 2, at about 7:30p.m. allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of an 11-year-old girl at Alarere area, Ibadan.

“The girl was sent to pack cloths spread on the line at the back of the building when Oyeladun rushed the girl to a room and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

“After the incident, he went to his house, but the girl was bleeding profusely from her private part which alerted the couple whom she stays with.

“Oyeladun reported for duty the following morning and was handed over to the police,’’ Ogunremi said.

Ogunremi said the offence contravened Section 218 of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol.II, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.(NAN)
