A 50 year old man living in Assin Kwasakrom, the Assin South District of the Central region, Ghana has allegedly butchered his wife to death and poisoned himself.
The man identified as Kwaku Atta is said to have killed the wife following her decision to divorce him.
According to Adom online, the police commander of Assin Damang, ASP Okyere Andam said the wife, Abena Nkrumah, left her matrimonial home to stay with her aunt due to maltreatment meted out to her by the husband.
Neighbors also confirmed the couples usually had misunderstanding and fought always before it got to the point of death.
The family members of the lady had waded in earlier in their matrimonial issues to resolve the problems amicably, it was shortly after that, he lured her to the farm and committed the murder.
Meanwhile, their bodies have been deposited at Abura Dunkwah government hospital mortuary pending autopsy.
