A Borno man claiming to have charms capable of repelling bullets directed towards him has been shot dead by a friend.

Lukman Alhaji Umaru reportedly told his friend, Hassan Mohammed, about the charms and went to his house to bring the assorted charms and a Dane gun to test its efficacy, Daily Post reported.

The incident happened at the home of another friend, Yahaya Halidu, where the duo was having breakfast.

However, when Mohammed took the Dane gun, he directed it towards Umaru’s head and fired.

Instead of getting the bragging rights as he probably expected, Umaru reported fell down and died.

Confirming the incident, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Tunde Ogunsakin told Daily Post that Umaru bragged to Mohammed that the gun would have no effect on him.

Mohammed has been dragged before a Maiduguri High Court, where the presiding judge, Justice Alkali Wakkil has adjourned the case till December 4 to enable Halidu, under whose roof the incident occurred, to testify.
