Man Dies After Drinking Alfa Suleiman’s Herbal Mixture

Mutiu Adekunle has been confirmed dead by the Osun State Police Command on Monday, after drinking a herbal mixure given to him by one Alfa Nureni Suleiman.

In a publication by The PUNCH on Tuesday, the Osun State Police Command stated that it had launched investigation into the case in order to determine the circumstance surrounding the victim’s death which took place on Sunday about 11pm.

According to reports, the herbal mixture was given to both the deceased and another person identified as Opeyemi Olayiwola to which they both developed complications after consuming the substance and were rushed to the hospital.

Fortunately, Olayiwola is said to be responding to treatment unlike Adekunle who died at the hospital.

However, the suspect, Suleiman,  has been arrested by the State Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo and the corpse of the deceased sent to Lautech Teaching Hospital for Autopsy report.

He said,

“The matter was reported at the Oja Oba Police Division (Osogbo) on Sunday at about 11.15pm. It was reported that one Olayiwola Opeyemi and Mutiu Adekunle were given a herbal mixture to drink by one Alfa Nureni Suleiman.

“As a result, the duo developed complications and were admitted at a private hospital in the Ijetu area of Osogbo.

“Mutiu (Adekunle) later gave up the ghost in the same hospital but Olayiwola is responding to treatment. Our operatives have visited the scene.

“The suspect has been arrested for interrogation. The corpse has been deposited at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital’s morgue for autopsy.”

The CP, who spoke through the command’s spokesperson, Folasade Odoro, said the police would carry our diligent investigations into the cause of death.
