Man docked over alleged issuance of dud cheques

A 42-year-old man, Damian Ajado, was on Friday arraigned in a Wuse Zone 2 Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for allegedly issuing a customer with dud cheques.

Ajado is facing a two-count charge bordering on criminal breach of trust and cheating.

The prosecutor, Tessy Enejena, told the court that the defendant attempted to defraud one Adah Dominic, a businesswoman.

She said the accused committed the offences when he purchased cement worth N390,000 from the complainant and issued her dud cheques, on two different occasions.

The offences contravened Sections 322 and 312 of the Penal Code.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences.

Magistrate Raphael Egbe, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000, with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until March 28 for further hearing. (NAN)
