A Swedish man has been take to court on grounds that he ate bacon too closely to a group of veiled Muslim women while he called them derogatory names.
The man who is yet to be named was reported to have approached the veiled Muslim women on a train around the Swedish capital, Stockholm, over the weekend and dangled bacon in their face while uttering derogatory remarks.
Swedish broadcaster, SVT reported that the women relocated from their seat near the man with the bacon to another area of the train but the man followed them along with his bacon, calling the Muslim women derogatory names and making racist remarks.
The police and the court are however yet to prove the allegation of racist remarks and derogatory statements which was allegedly made by the Swedish man.
The Muslim women further alleged that the culprit also used racial slurs and epithets on another woman at the train station after he got off the ride.
Based on the allegations, the culprit is faced with incitement to racial hatred.
