Man Injured By Runaway Christmas Cow In Onitsha

Christmas is often celebrated by Christians all over the world. It is a day that people believe Jesus Christ was born. Hence, on a yearly basis, Christians gather together on the 25th of December to eat, drink and be merry.

However, this year’s Christmas celebration will be forever remembered by tenants in a commercial building located in Ben Aghaeze Street Onitsha.

According to the Daily Sun, the tenants contributed and bought a live cow which was going to be used for the celebration.

The tenants planned to kill the cow on December 25 morning and the meat was to be shared in equal proportion among the contributors.

While a butcher earlier contracted for the slaughtering was sharpening his knife, suddenly, the cow made a loud noise broke the rope where it was tied and charged ferociously at the people.

In a twinkling of an eye, the cow broke a table placed in front of the building, used the horns to break a car windscreen as everybody ran for their dear lives.

In the ensuing scuffle, Obinna Adimora a tenant fell while running and the cow attacked him with horns.

However, some Suya sellers and security guards in the vicinity were able to rescue Obinna and also arrested the raging cow, which was slaughtered immediately.

Obinna a trader in the Onitsha market is currently responding to treatment at Okoye Memorial Hospital, Awada.
