Man Kills Girlfriend In Hotel Room Over Gonorrhea Infection

A Chemistry graduate from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State was last Monday killed by her boyfriend of six months.

The incident occurred in a hotel in Minna, Niger State, where the suspect, 31-year-old Ekanem Ikot, had lured the 27-year-old Edith Owei to, before reportedly ending her life.

It was learnt that Ikot accused Owei of infecting him with a sexually-transmitted disease, gonorrhoea, before leaving her lifeless and escaping from the hotel room.

While the suspect hails from Akwa Ibom state, the victim was a native of Owa-Alero, Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to reports, Ikot had lured the victim to Minna, from her base in Delta, and she in turn told her parents she was going to school to collect her NYSC call-up letter for mobilisation.
