A man has admitted to murdering his own sister in what he described as an ‘honour killing’ because she chose to derail and marry a Christian.
The Pakistani man, Mubeen Rajhu, 24, shot his sister, Tesleem, 18, in the head in their home.
According to reports, Rahju had been taunted by his co-workers who had noticed the love affair between his sister and the Christian man.
Following the gruesome murder, Rahju, from Lahore, a small neighbourhood, is being held by police.
Rahju in his testimony said: “I told her I would have no face to show at the mill, to show to my neighbors, so don’t do it. Don’t do it. But she wouldn’t listen.
“I could not let it go. It was all I could think about. I had to kill her. There was no choice. There was no yelling, no shouting. I just shot her dead.”
A co-worker of Rahju’s, Ali Raza, said other of his co-workers kept taunting him for months.
“He used to tell us, “If you don’t stop, I will kill myself. Stop!” The guys here told him, “It would be better to kill your sister.”
Raaza further revealed that he told his fellow co-workers at the mill when he purchased a pistol in August before he stopped coming to work.
Father of the deceased, Mohammed Naseer Rajhu told DailyMail reports he said: “My family is destroyed. Everything is destroyed only because of this shameful girl. Even after death I am destroyed because of her.”
