A man from Jordan is currently in police custody over the murder of his 18-month old child. He allegedly strapped the baby to his stroller before pushing him into the Gulf of Pattaya in Thailand.
The immigration chief, Lt. Gen Surachate, stated that as soon as the suspect, Wael Zureikat, discovered that the body of the baby had been found, he swiftly made plans to sneak out of the country.
He was subsequently nabbed by police officers at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
The toddler’s body remained strapped to the stroller when he was found on Monday. However, he was afloat the water close to Bali Hai Pier in Pattaya. Upon examination, officers explained that the 18-month old boy had lost his life two days before then.
The police chief in Pattaya, Col. Apichai Krobphet, has since confirmed that the suspect confessed to the crime and explained that he pushed the baby into the water on Friday night.
It was equally revealed that Zureikat carried out the despicable act so as to get back at his wife who left him to cater for the infant alone.
