Tunde Agbaje, a cousin to Jimi Agbaje, the former People’s Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate in Lagos state, has engaged in a trekking exercise in order to win the heart of the woman he loves.
The 26-year-old man had said the trek was necessary so as to convince the lady, Sharon Donald – a daughter of a former governor of a state in the south south – of his love and intentions towards her.
It was gathered that the duo have been friends for a long time and Tunde had made his intentions of marriage known to her on several occasions, which she consistently turned down.
Tunde had trekked for a duration of 19 days before getting to his destination.
He was welcomed by the Chief Security Officer of the Ahmadu Bello University, Col. J.K Tukur, and the Protocol Officer in Zaria.
The young man, after being celebrated for engaging in such a rigorous exrcise just to prove his unquestionable love for a girl, was later taken to the hospital to treat injuries sustained during the course of the exercise.
Speaking on his reason for trekking, Agbaje said,
“I chose to go Zaria because her parents dated for six years in ABU, Zaria, before they got married. I didn’t let my parents know and to ensure I was not disturbed, I changed my sim card.
“I took a tracker along with me to monitor my movements. I never took a bus at any time. It was a tough task and I even collapsed at some point. I took off from Ketu on October 2nd and arrived in Zaria on Thursday, October 20, around 4:15pm.
“I have no regret for what I have done. I have proved my love to her even though she didn’t reciprocate my feeling. I believe even if she gets married to another person, nobody can do what I did for her.”
The young lady, who is said to have travelled out of the country, reached out to express her disgust over the issue, stating that the young man was a stalker who had been bothering her for a long time.
She said she had met Tunde at her church and since then he has been reaching out to her, insisting on being her husband.
The young lady said she had turned down all his advances and perceived the trek as an embarrassing act used to get her attention.
Donald, who seemed understandably upset with the action taken by Agbaje, described him as mentally unstable and asked him to refrain from any act of publicity to gain attention and forcibly make her change her stand as she was not interested in marrying him.
