Man With 23 Children Attempts To Sell 3-year-old Son For N5m

A 42-year-old man has been arrested by Nasarawa State Police for attempting to sell his 3-year-old son in Lafia.

The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mohammed Mahmoud-Fari told newsmen on Thursday that the man was arrested on Tuesday following a sting operation by the officers of the command.

According to reports , the father of 23, had decided to sell his 3-year-old son for N5m.

According to Mahmoud-Fari: “Our undercover officers got wind of his plan and opened negotiation with the suspect who offered to sell the son for N5m.

“He opted to collect the money in cash and it was in the process that we arrested him in Lafia,’’

According to further investigations carried out by The NSCDC discovered that the man was married to five wives and has 23 children, out of which he had already sold one of his daughters.

The man confessed  to the crime and attributed his action to economic hardship, saying he resorted to sell his son to enable him take care of the family.
