On Sunday the tragic deaths of 2 Unilag Students in the masters program at Elegushi beach were reported.
The ladies had gone for a birthday party and while the were having fun, a rogue wave swept the two ladies along with the birthday celebrant away.
The celebrant survived, the other two ladies did not.
There has since then been an outcry on social media calling for justice as the beach had no life guard or emergency service on hand to protect visitors and this has been viewed as a major reason for the deaths.
According to the Punch, The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Baddow has revealed that the managers of the beach, whose names have been withheld, have been arrested in connection to the investigation.
If proven guilty then the two managers will have their identities revealed.
The police will visit the beach to inspect the safety measures put in place and interrogate people to get to the bottom of this matter.
