Manchester City have renewed title-winning coach Guardiola’s contract till 2021 giving him another 3 years at the Manchester club.

The Spaniard took over the club in 2016 and even after a patchy first season, he responded in brilliant fashion, winning the Premier League and Capital One cup and also getting to the Quarterfinal of the Champions League where he was defeated by Finalists, Liverpool.

The Manchester outfit broke records after winning the Premier League with a 100 points, the most any team has ever amassed in a single season.

City’s lowest point was perhaps their FA Cup defeat to Wigan.

“I am so happy and excited. It’s a pleasure to work here,” he said.

“I enjoy working with our players every day and we will try to do our best together in the coming years. As a manager, you have to feel good to be with the players – and I feel good.”

His all-conquering side scored 106 goals which was also a record and won 32 games– another record, eclipsing the one set by Chelsea last season when the blues won 30 games.

“I will focus on the desire of my players to become a better team and every day that’s what I will try to do – to improve on the pitch and improve our players,” added Guardiola.

“We have a young squad with an average age of 23 and we want to keep taking steps forward and maintain the levels we’ve achieved this season.”
