Manchester United charged by FA for player conduct in Anfield defeat

The English Football Association has charged Manchester United for failing “to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion” in the defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

Manchester United players circled referee Craig Pawson after he had initially allowed Roberto Firmino’s goals before VAR overruled the decision.

The video assistant referee ruled out the goal for a foul by Virgil van Dijk on keeper David de Gea in the build-up.

United have been given a Thursday ultimatum by which time they must have responded to the charge.

The incident, which happened in the 26th minute as Liverpool led 1-0, saw De Gea booked for his protests to Pawson.

United currently sit 5th on the EPL table while Liverpool top the table.
