Manchester United Sack Jose Mourinho

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has been sacked by the club following a poor start to the season that sees them sitting in 6th place.

They are no 19 points behind Liverpool who they lost to on Sunday and it is highly unlikely that they will make the top 4

The season was marred with a number of high profile fights with players with Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial being sidelined by the Portuguese manager.

He has also been unable to get the best out of highest earner, Alexis Sanchez, which has led to the Chilean looking like a shadow of his former self.

Mourinho joined the Red Devils in 2016 and he went on to win 3 trophies for the Mancunians but was unable to win the Premiership, Champions League or FA cup

“Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect,” said a statement by United

“The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.

“A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.”
