Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, has hit out at the club, stating that ‘big decisions’ had to be made.

Manchester United are on the brink after back-to-back defeats against Derby County in the Carabao cup and West Ham in the Premier League.

The club sit 10th on the table, which is incidentally where Chelsea sat when Mourinho was sacked by the club.

The Portuguese manager seems to have lost his dressing room with disagreements with players a regular feature,

It is also felt that he isn’t getting the best out of the players he does have at his disposal, with Alexis Sanchez, so deadly at Arsenal, not even making the bench in the defeat to West Ham.

Speaking to BT Sport, Ferdinand said: “There will be conversations at the top level about the future of the manager and the squad,”

“The basics are not being done and something has to be said.

“You can’t let a situation like this continue throughout the season – wars in the press, leaks, players on one side of the dressing room, Mourinho and his staff on the other. If that continues this will be one of the worst seasons in the club’s history.”

Manchester United is back in Europe this week, with a game against Valencia, the next headache to worry about.
