The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun at the 14th Convocation Ceremony of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta has promised the institution will soon join the ranks of degree-awarding institutions in the country.
Speaking at the academic event, the state Governor revealed discussions are ongoing about the development with the National Universities Commission to bring the dream to reality.
“Ogun State has the highest number of higher institutions in the country. This administration believes in creating the enabling environment for them to thrive. We are already looking into the possibility of making MAPOLY a degree-awarding institution.
“We have already written to the National Universities Commission and we believe very soon we will receive its response.”
The State Governor who added that his administration was focused on prioritising education promised the institution two hostel facilities in memory of his parents.
