Osasu Igbinedion, host of The Osasu Show, a one stop development programme that focuses on the promotion and implementation of Sustainable Development in Africa, took to the streets of Garki to interview traders on their experiences as President Muhammad Buhari marks his first anniversary in office.

The traders lament on the state of the economy as the Federal Government economic policy, popularly termed Buharinomics which they claim has delivered deep level of negative change and depression on the economy and prices in general.

A soft drinks merchant, Mr. Chido said everything has gone up with exception of the price of the public toilet at Garki market. Mr. Chido said “The only thing wey no add money for this market, na toilet where we dey take **expletive**. That one na 30 naira.”

He said Buhari should reduce his travels as even Obama, the American president and his counterpart in France did not visit Nigeria as much. Reminded by the presenter, that Mr. President was on those tours to retrieve looted funds, Chido said, ” Make una help us beg Buhari. We no send am to go collect those money back ooo. we don forgive those people wey carry those money ooo.”

He compared the market to a burial ground due to the absence of customers, who do not have the funds to shop or are unwilling to cough out the higher prices.

This market woman begs with Buhari to pick up his handset and hear the cries of the people.

Nasarawa University student, Rahila Ayuba, says the strikes are causing some of her colleagues to misstime their family planning as they are often married during the strike breaks that mar the academic calendar.
