He helped shape Marvel and position it into the juggernaut it is today.

Always the practical joker, Lee had a habit of appearing in cameo roles on all the Marvel movies with his last appearance being in Avengers: Infinity War where he was a bus driver driving Peter Parker’s school bus

“I felt someday I’d write the ‘Great American Novel’ and I didn’t want to use my real name on these silly little comics,” he once said, explaining why he had forsaken his given name, Stanley Lieber.

Stan Lee will always be remembered for what he did: bringing acceptance and a sense of community to readers all over the world.

He was 95 years old
