Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari has directed the immediate renovation and rehabilitation opf three government hospitals in the state.
Masari gave this directive while receiving the report of the State Health Committee on Thursday in Katsina. He ordered that under phase one of the project, work should commence at the General Hospitals in Katsina, Daura and Funtua.
He said good healthcare delivery is one of the top priority of the government.
Earlier, Chairman of the Health Committee in the state, Dr Labaran Doro, while submitting the report, had urged the governor that the three hospitals should be given standard rehabilitation.
Doro also said that the generators and water supply systems in the hospitals should also be given a facelift to ensure conducive atmosphere for the patients.
He appealed to the government to build houses for medical doctors posted to the hospitals in order to boost their morale.
