Meghan Markle, Prince Harry welcome baby boy

Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have welcomed a baby boy, the seventh-in-line to the throne, on Monday.

The Sussex palace disclosed this via an Instagram post, saying that “The Duchess went into labour in the early hours of this morning. The Duke of Sussex was by Her Royal Highnesses’ side.”

We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz. The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.

The statement adds that the baby weighed seven pounds and six ounces, which is about 3.3kg.

Ace Hollywood actress, Markle, had gotten married to Prince Harry in May 2018.

She was said to have chosen a female-led medical team for her delivery alongside her mother, Doria Ragland.
