Morgan Freeman, popular for his roles in the Shawshank Redemption, Lean on Me and Now you See me, is the latest Casualty of the #MeToo movement.

The 80-year-old thespian has been accused of sexual misconduct by at least 8 women who worked with him on various projects.

According to CNN, the investigation involved 16 women some of whom accused the actor of inappropriate comments and conduct while working in his production company, Revelation Entertainment.

Freeman has released a statement in which he apologized to anyone who felt uncomfortable with him.

“Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy,” the statement said. “I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected — that was never my intent.”

The CNN report revealed that the women complained of “a pattern of inappropriate behavior by Freeman on set, while promoting his movies and at his production company Revelations Entertainment.”

The women also claimed that they were quiet because they feared for their jobs.

“But each of them said they didn’t report Freeman’s behavior, with most saying it was because they feared for their jobs,” the CNN report said.

When CNN reached out to others who worked with the actor, they said they never saw him behave inappropriately and that he was always professional.

Freeman has had a career spanning well over 50 years and won an Academy Award for his role in Million Dollar Baby.
