Nigerian Senior Team player and Chelsea FC midfielder, John Mikel Obi has helped the Olympic team out financially by donating the sum of $30,000.
According to reports by Kola Daniel of African Football, the Nigerian-International star gifted the team the sum in order to help ease the burden of the competition as the Head coach, Samson Siasia had cried out over the non-payment of their salaries for about 5 months.
A player said: “Mikel has donated $30,000 to the team”
The Team player added: “You know we have not received money since we left Nigeria.”
