Mohammed, Gani Fawehinmi’s First Son, Dies At 52

Late legal luminary, Chief Gani Fawehinmi’s first son Mohammed is dead.

He died on Wednesday at the age of 52.

Family sources said that he complained of breathing difficulty in the morning and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where he died.

Mohammed was born on February 21, 1969, and attended Kotun Memorial Primary School, Surulere, Lagos, and his secondary education at Federal Government College, Sokoto.

Until his death, Fawehinmi was Head, Mohammed Fawehinmi’s Chambers, Director, Nigerian Law Publications Limited, Director, Books Industries Nigeria Limited, and Director, Gani Fawehinmi Library and Gallery Limited.

In 2003, he had an accident in Lagos, which affected his spinal cord and confined him to a wheelchair.

Although he managed the law firm of his father, he has been unable to practise law the way his father had hoped.

Mohammed was unmarried before his death.
