The 17th edition of the Headies Awards has been dominated by singer Odumodublvck and the late Mohbad, as revealed in the nominations list released by the award organizers on Wednesday.
Odumodublvck secured five nominations, making him the most nominated artist this year, while Mohbad, Ayra Starr, and Shallipopi followed closely with three nominations each.
The award show, recognized as Nigeria’s most prestigious music honors, is set to take place on April 5, 2025, celebrating music videos released between April 2023 and July 31, 2024.
The categories include Music Video of the Year, Best Vocal Performance (Female), Best Rap Single, Rookie of the Year, Best R&B Single, Songwriter of the Year, Producer of the Year, and Best Collaboration, among others.
Some notable nominations include Rema’s Charm, Burna Boy’s Higher, Asake’s Remember, and the posthumous nomination of Mohbad for Egwu in the Best Collaboration category.
