Morocco is still enjoying their stellar performance at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The African Football Confederation had to restart the procedure of searching for the AFCON 2025 host after Guinea lost the right to host the tournament. Many countries submitted their bid to host the tournament, and Morocco was among them.

When Morocco placed their bid to host the 2026 World Cup, A task force comprising dozens of experts crossed the country for several months. After that, they awarded the country an above-average mark making it eligible for the new look World Cup.

The 2025 AFCON tournament will feature 24 teams meaning Morocco has met the requirements to host the tournament. For example, Morocco guarantees accessibility, a unique tourist experience, and safety. Additionally, players and their staff will have access to comfort and quality hotel facilities. Six Host Cities

Six Moroccan cities were selected to celebrate African football. The cities include Fez, Tangier, Agadir, Casablanca, Marrakech and Rabat. Additionally, the six cities were chosen because they offer logistical and operational excellence in terms of transport, residential, and sports infrastructure.

The cities are located within a 465 km radius around Casablanca and are linked with optimal transport networks. They also represent solid and unique identities that reflect the nation’s diversity and passion for the sport.
