Mother Begs For Her Life For Hours As Son Hacks Her With A Hatchet

Cameron Curtis a man in Tennessee, USA attempted to murder his mother with a hatchet, striking her in the back of the skull while she begged him for hours, to spare her life.

Worried residents in the area called the emergency services, who sent policemen to the house in Giles County..

According to online sources, a lady had called the dispatchers to tell them that a son had just killed his own mother.

The foremost Officers to arrive at the scene found the 26-year-old waiting. He tried to attack but was disarmed and carried away, police report.

Inside the house, they found Neva Curtis, the suspect’s mother, lying in a pool of her own blood, bleeding “profusely” from her head and barely clinging to life.

She was taken to a Nashville hospital about an hour away, where she remains in critical but stable condition.

Curtis was taken to the Giles County Jail, where he faces both an aggravated assault and an attempted murder charge, according to jail records.

According to his jail warrant, Curtis had placed a gun on his mother’s head and stated he was deciding whether to kill her slow or kill her quickly, then grabbing a hatchet to strike his mother in the back of the skull multiple times.

“She laid there for two hours, praying and begging for her life before he left the residence and called his wife, saying he killed his mom,” Lt. Shane Hunter said.

Amanda Williams, the victim’s sister, who lived with Neva, told police that Curtis had been agitated because he believed his mother had called authorities to take away his children.

“He has two small kids, we were worried about them. But we never thought he would do something like this,” she told police “I love him. I will forgive him. But I will never forget this.”

Curtis remains in jail without bond and is scheduled for a first appearance in court on March 8.
