MoU: Kebbi Govt. begins transportation of livestock to Lagos State Govt

The Kebbi Government has commenced transportation of six trucks of livestock to Lagos State Government.

This is parts of Memorandum of Understanding on Agriculture Products Value Chain Development signed between the two states.

The Kebbi Coordinator of LASKEB, Alhaji Usman Dan-Galadima, told newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday that six trucks out of the 10 trucks of livestock consignment had reached Lagos safely.

“The consignments, included, 2,000 consignments of rams and 200 cows which were ordered by Lagos from Kebbi in line with the agreement “.

Dan-Gakadima said the agreement between the two states covered agro-based commodities such as rice, wheat, soya beans, maize, groundnuts, perishable products, livestock and fish.

“Kebbi State will source for the commodities while Lagos will process them for marketing with APMCO managing the bussiness on behalf of the two governments and the third partner San Carlos ,a Mexican company based in Lagos, “he said.

The MoU signed by the two states in March focuses on boosting the production of rice, wheat, groundnut, maize, millet, sorghum, sugar cane, cows, amongst others. (NAN).
