Senator Shehu Sani says the ruling elite now more than ever must combat insecurity in the country.

He stated this Friday while reacting to the killing of Hon. Musa Mante Baraza, the lawmaker representing Dass Constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly.

The Herald reported Friday that Baraza was killed on Thursday night in his hometown, Dass, the headquarters of Dass Local Government Area of the state.

Gunmen, suspected to be armed robbers, invaded the house of the deceased at the wee hours of the night, firing shots at him.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command in the state, DSP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the incident, adding that the gunmen kidnapped the two wives and a son of the deceased lawmaker.

Taking to Twitter, Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, said that the “top echelon” must find a lasting solution to insecurity before it consumes more of their class.

“The murder of Bauchi lawmaker Hon Musa Mante and the abduction of his wives is tragic.

“The number of the victims of insecurity is rising up to those in the top echelon.

“May his soul Rest In Peace.

“The rescue of his family members should be the focus now,” Sani stated.
