“My son is a psychiatric patient” – Father of Kaduna church ‘bomber’

Mr. Samuel Ezekiel, the father of Nathaniel Samuel, the young man allegedly caught attempting to bomb a Kaduna church on Sunday, has said his son is mentally ill.

The would-be bomber’s father disclosed that his son was admitted at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Kaduna in 2012 after getting addicted to drugs.

He added that his son had been a drug addict for years before he took him to the psychiatric hospital on December 6, 2012, and he was admitted.

According to Daily Trust, Ezekiel confirmed that his son is a Christian and not a Muslim as being speculated in various quarters.

A resident of Marabar Demishi village located few kilometres from Maraban ‎Rido in Chikun local government area of Kaduna, Ezekiel said he was left in shock and tears for the lives of the would-be victims when he was told his son had attempted to bomb a church.

He was quoted as saying that he did not care if his son wanted to kill himself but he should not harm others in the process of doing so.
