A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri says the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) should investigate the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba’s finances.

He stated this in a Facebook post while reacting to reports that Nwajiuba purchased the 2023 presidential expression of interest and nominations forms of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which cost N100 million.

The forms…

He said that Nwajiuba’s monthly income as a minister for seven years was not up to N100 million and he could not claim to have any other source of income since the law forbids serving ministers from taking up any paid employment during their appointment.

Omokri said it was also wrong for Nwajiuba to have purchased a N100 million form while many unions in the education sector remain on strike due to lack of funds.

“ASUU is on strike due to lack of funds

“NASU is on strike due to lack of funds

“ASUP is on strike due to lack of funds

“NUT is on strike due to lack of funds

“Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, whose salary for the seven years he has been minister is not up to ₦100 million, and who is prohibited by law from running a business while he is in government, and who should be focused on providing funds for these striking educational bodies, just bought a ₦100 million APC Presidential nomination form?
