Following reports of N2.5 billion allegedly found in Stella Oduah’s housemaid’s account, Oduah has vowed to sue online media platform, Sahara Reporters.

In a statement by Francisca Onyeisi, the former minister’s head of communications, Oduah said legal action has become necessary following the malicious allegations.

Onyeisi said the former minister has no female domestic staff as claimed in the report by the online media.

“We would like to state unequivocally that this report is totally false, baseless and has no sense in it, in the first place, Senator Oduah has no female domestic staff, in the second place what would be the sense in putting such money in a personal account, is it for savings or concealment? Either of which makes no sense no matter how big the person is,” Onyeisi said.

Onyeisi said a suit against Sahara Reporters would help online media on the right track of journalism in the interest of the country and those who wish to serve in the government.

“We also want to state that while the online platform, well-known for its penchant lies and spurious allegations may have made another calculated attempt to taint the enviable record and achievements of the distinguished Senator who had made a mark in oil/gas and agricultural businesses before joining politics.

“We therefore challenge Sahara Reporters to produce evidence of the imaginary account of the supposed housemaid to members of the public

“We want to state that our only consolation in the regrettable scenario that is playing out now is that Senator Oduah’s work in government as aviation minister cannot be denied even by her worse enemies. Her work at the airports shall remain the pride of the aviation industry in the next 30 years.

“It will therefore not be out of place to take legal action against the online tabloid so as to check its excesses and bring it to the right track of journalism in the interest of our country and our leaders who have volunteered to serve this nation diligently and who needs to be protected from unnecessary malicious attacks,” She said.
